Picking Harakeke (flax)

Kia ora, can you guess what Room 19 have been up to last week?  We walked to Omaru creek to pick harakeke (flax).

When we first got there Ms Tito had to tell us what the rules were to do with harakeke. The most important thing is that we don't cut the matua, whaea and pepi and there were some accidents that happen about cutting flax of which one we cut . Ms Tito said not to chop them at night because they might accidentally chop the wrong one.

We walked back with our flax that we chopped and when we got back to school we had to walk into the streets and we had to sit in a circle so everyone can fit we then had to have a ruler each and so we started to weave our own harakeke and I did not have one so Lorenzo keni because he was listening and not participating.
